Annecdote and She's Complete two to follow Stateside

She's Complete takes Oak Tree Juvenile Fillies

With the sales season already in full swing on both sides of the Atlantic, it has been good to see McCalmont Bloodstock horses putting their heads in front. The past few weeks has seen no fewer than seven McCalmont Bloodstock winners and this includes two stakes American debuts for fillies She's Complete and Annecdote.

She's Complete (Oratorio) was purchased privately from Tommy Stack in midsummer and transferred to leading American trainer Doug O'Neil. The two year old filly debuted at Del Mar at the end of July and ran with huge credit to be a fast finishing second over the unfamiliar main track. At the close of the Del Mar meet, She's Complete followed in the footsteps of last years McCalmont Bloodstock purchase Clenor, by annexing the Oak Tree Juvenile Fillies (Listed). The Breeder's Cup Juvenille Fillies Turf (Grade I) at the end of the year is now a legitimate target, with the Surfer Girl (Listed) at Santa Anita earmarked as her next possible start.

On the East Coast, recent private purchase Annecdote (Lucky Story), put down a serious marker as a filly to follow when taking the competitive Noble Damsel (Grade III) with ease, for new trainer Christophe Clement.
Clement said he was not surprised by the turn of foot Annecdote displayed based on how she had been training.
"The filly had a very good work last weekend. This is a race where the stable has been very lucky."

Annecdote had been campaigned to great effect by her previous trainer Jonathan Portman when trained in England, winning at both Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood as a three year old. After two decent runs at four, including a run back the the Royal meeting, Annecdote was purchased by McCalmont Bloodstock, in conjunction with leading bloodstock agent David Ingordo, for owners George Bolton and Peter Leidel.
